Terms of Use

The terms governing use of the site, appointment booking and the Baribier Studio affiliation programme.

What you can do on this site, what a booking commits either side to, and who answers for what.

Last updated August 25, 2026

1The short version

Reading this site commits you to nothing. Booking an appointment does: it is a seat held for you, and someone is waiting in it.

You can cancel or move it free of charge up to 24 hours before the time booked. After that, or if you do not turn up, section 5 says what happens.

Nothing is paid on this site. Payment happens at the studio, after the service.

2What these terms cover

Baribier Studio operates this site and the studio at 835 boul. Taschereau, La Prairie (Québec) J5R 1W2. Using either means accepting what follows.

They cover this site and the booking window that opens on it. They do not cover everything:

  • The Baribier Affiliation app — It will have its own terms, shown when you install it. Those govern the ambassador programme, not these.
  • The Mangomint form — If our own booking window cannot load, the site shows Mangomint’s instead — Mangomint is the studio’s appointment software. What you type there is governed by Mangomint’s terms as well as ours.
  • The sites our links lead to — Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, our partners’ sites. Once you are there, their rules apply.

What this site does with your personal information is a separate document: the privacy policy, in the same footer as this one.

3Booking an appointment

A booking made here is a seat held in a schedule, not a purchase. Nothing is charged, nothing is collected, and you give no banking details on this site.

It takes effect when the confirmation appears on screen. If it does not appear, the booking did not go through — however complete the form looked.

  • What we ask for — Your first and last name, your phone number and your email, so we can hold the appointment and reach you if it changes. Give them accurately: a wrong number is the one reason we will not be able to warn you.
  • “No preference” — Choosing it means letting us assign whichever barber is free. You cannot then hold it against us that you did not get the one you were hoping for — name them if it matters.
  • A slot can go before you do — The times shown are free at the moment the page shows them. Two people can want the same one: whoever confirms first gets it, and the other is taken back to the time picker.
  • Booking for someone else — That is fine, as long as they know about it and the number you give can be reached. You answer for that appointment as if it were yours.

If you are under 14, a parent or guardian books and comes to the studio with you.

We can refuse or cancel a booking — an obviously false schedule, a run of missed appointments, behaviour that puts the safety of the team or other clients in question. It is rare, and we tell you.

4Prices, taxes and payment

Prices shown on this site and in the booking window are in Canadian dollars, before applicable taxes.

They are for a standard service. Hair that is very long, very dense or very damaged can take longer, and so cost more: the barber tells you BEFORE starting, never after. If the price no longer suits you at that point, you can leave owing nothing.

Payment happens at the studio, once the service is done, by the means shown at the front desk. A price shown here in error — a stray zero, a service that no longer exists — does not bind us; we tell you and you decide.

5Cancelling, moving, not turning up

A booked seat is a seat nobody else can take. That is the whole reason for this section, and it cuts both ways.

  • Cancelling or moving — Free of charge up to 24 hours before the time booked. Use the link in your confirmation, or call (450) 500-4949 — that is the fastest.
  • Arriving late — We hold your seat for 15 minutes. Past that, the barber may shorten the service so the next client is not kept waiting, or move the appointment.
  • Not turning up — A missed appointment with no word may be charged up to half the price of the service, and may lead us to ask for a deposit on the next ones. It is the only sum this site can cost you, and you are told about it here before you book.
  • If we are the ones cancelling — Illness, breakdown, something unforeseen: we reach you as fast as we can and put you back in first. Nothing is charged, obviously.

A serious emergency — an accident, a hospital, a death in the family — is not a missed appointment. Tell us and there is nothing to pay.

6The result, and the touch-up

A cut is handwork on living material, not an item out of a box. Our barbers are trained to the same standard in every studio, and that standard is what we owe you.

If something is off — a line, a length, a transition — come back within seven days and we redo it free of charge. It is the right way to settle it, and the fastest.

A service already rendered is not refunded as a matter of course: the touch-up is the remedy we offer. None of this takes anything away from the guarantees Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act gives you — see section 14.

Tell us before we start if you have an allergy, a scalp condition or reactive skin. We adapt the products; without that, we cannot.

7Referrals and the app

Baribier Affiliation is the programme that pays clients who bring us others. The app is not published yet, and this site only shows what it will be.

What this site does today is recognise a referral link: an address containing “?ref=”. Arrive that way and the welcome discount is applied when your first appointment is confirmed, and whoever sent you is credited.

  • Once, on the first appointment — The welcome discount is for a new client. It does not stack with another promotion unless we say so.
  • No referring yourself — A link used to credit yourself, a run of fake accounts, appointments created then cancelled to trigger payouts: we cancel the credits and we can close the account.
  • The programme can change — Amounts, tiers and rewards can change, and the programme can end. Credits already earned remain owed.
  • The app governs — The day it ships, its own terms govern the programme, and this section gives way to them.

8Voting for a future studio

The vote on coming studios is a survey, not a promise. It tells us where the appetite is and nothing more: leading the vote guarantees neither an opening, nor a date, nor an address.

One vote per studio per day, from the same device. Trying to get around that limit gets the votes in question thrown out.

9What on this site is ours

The Baribier name, the monogram, the visuals, the films, the photographs, the words and the code of this site belong to us, or are licensed to us by their authors. Our partners’ marks and logos belong to those partners.

You can read the site, print it and share it by a link. Here is what you cannot do without our written agreement:

  • Take the content — Copy, publish or resell our words, our photographs or our films, elsewhere or under another name.
  • Present yourself as us — Use the Baribier name or monogram in a way that suggests an affiliation, a sponsorship or an endorsement that does not exist.
  • Scrape the site — Harvest it, extract its data in bulk, or use it to train a model, without having asked us.
  • Put it under strain — Try to get around a protection, send automated bookings, or overload our servers.

A note to the barber, a review, a suggested city: what you write stays yours, but you allow us to use it to deliver the service and improve the studio. Do not write anything confidential in it.

10Photographs and video at the studio

The studio is filmed and photographed regularly — a good part of what you see on this site comes from that.

If you appear in an image we want to publish, we ask you on the spot. You can say no, then or afterwards: write to salon@baribier.com and the image comes out of our publications, with no need to explain yourself.

11Applying as a barber

The application form is there for you to show us your work. Sending it creates no employment relationship and obliges us neither to reply nor to hire.

What you tell us has to be accurate. What becomes of the application is described in the privacy policy.

12Links and third-party services

This site leans on services we do not run: Mangomint for appointments, our affiliation platform, Meta for ad measurement, Google for the map and a typeface.

We chose them and we answer for what we hand them, but we control neither their availability nor their own terms. One of them going down can make online booking unavailable — the studio’s phone always works.

13The site is provided as it is

We keep this site current as best we can, without guaranteeing it will be available without interruption or free of errors. The hours, prices, services and addresses shown can change, and a page can lag behind what the studio is actually doing.

When in doubt, call (450) 500-4949. What we tell you on the phone beats what a page displays.

14Our liability

We answer for the service rendered at the studio and for what this site does with what you type into it. We do not answer for what is outside our control: a supplier outage, a network failure, a device or browser that refuses to render the page, or what happens on a site we link to.

This section takes nothing away from what the law gives you. Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act applies in full, and a clause purporting to set it aside would have no effect — including this one. Nothing here limits our liability for gross or intentional fault, or for bodily injury.

If something went wrong, write to us first: most disputes are settled in one conversation. If yours is not, the Office de la protection du consommateur informs consumers and receives complaints: www.opc.gouv.qc.ca, 1 888 672-2556.

15Governing law and language

These terms are governed by the law applicable in Quebec. The courts of the judicial district of Longueuil, where the studio is, are the ones we will go to.

If you are a consumer, that takes nothing from you: the law lets you bring the matter before the court where you live, and this section does not seek to remove that.

The French version of this document is the official one. The English translation is provided for convenience; if the two diverge, the French text governs.

If one sentence of this document turned out to be invalid, the rest would still apply.

16If these terms change

The date at the top of the page moves with every edit, and it is the first place to look. A significant change — the cancellation fee, the touch-up window — will be flagged on the site before it takes effect.

An appointment already booked stays governed by the terms in force the day you booked it. A change cannot catch up with you after the fact.

17Reaching us

A question about these terms, an appointment to move, a disagreement to settle: the same address answers all of it, and a real person at the studio reads it.
